Luke Bryan’s Crash My Playa Caribbean Concert vacation keeps getting bigger every year, and Luke wanted to make sure the upcoming 2017 event would be the biggest yet. That’s why he personally called his pal Blake Shelton to ask him to headline one of the event’s four concerts.

You have to understand that booking Blake Shelton to perform at festivals involves a lot of scheduling and planning with Blake’s managers and agents, as well as the folks at NBC who handle his duties on “The Voice.” So, Luke knew it was a bit of a risk to just call Blake up without checking it with everybody.

“That stuff, you gotta be careful about that part,” Luke says. “But I called Blake. I was like, ‘Man, I’d love for you to come down here and just do this thing and see if you like it.’ I called him, and he agreed to do it.”

Nothing’s that easy, though. Luke adds with a smile, “I think I may have accidentally agreed to do something for him.”

In all seriousness, Luke can’t wait to reunite with his pal and former ACM Awards co-host Blake Shelton. You’ll recall the two of them together went by “Bluke” in their co-host days.

Luke says, “We’ll have to figure out how to pronounce that in Spanish. That’ll be our alter ego.”

Little Big Town, Dustin Lynch, Randy Houser and Brothers Osborne are among the other country stars playing Crash My Playa, coming up Jan. 19-22, 2017. Go to for vacation packages.
