Luke Bryan has been at the top of the country heap for a few years now, and he’s put in a lot of time and work to get to that spot. Since he claimed the crows as country’s top dog, Luke hasn’t slowed down one bit when it comes to touring and making albums.

So, how long can he keep up that unrelenting pace?

Luke tells the “Indianapolis Star,” “I think, ?How long can I continue at this level?? But there?s no way to say numbers without me sticking my foot in my mouth, you know? It?s just about where I?m at. Some aspects could come down as simple as, ?Well, my nephew who lives with me, is he the starting quarterback this year? Do I need to take Friday nights off to watch him play??”

Those family concerns will definitely come into play as Luke’s two youngest boys, Bo and Tate, get older, too.

He adds, “I?m gonna always love being onstage. But I?m marrying that with the family element, with not missing out on the stuff that?s too important to miss out on.”

Still, you don’t have to worry about Luke retiring any time soon. He loves his fans too much for that, but Luke also thinks other artists deserve their moment in the sun just like he’s had for the past few years.

Luke explains, “I think there?s a natural slowdown that?ll happen in my career. I?ve been to the mountaintop, on the mountaintop, the mountaintop?s beautiful. I can?t expect to build me a mansion up there for the rest of my time here. Somebody else has gotta go there, too. But the main thing is I just enjoy being onstage and being with my family and friends.”
