From Chris Young and Rascal Flatts to Brett Eldredge and Jennifer Nettles, it has seemed like 2016 has been the year of the country Christmas album.

But Luke Bryan is just one of those country artists that has never talked much about the possibility of a Christmas album… until now.

“I’m kinda spilling the beans,” Luke admitted during an interview with Rare Country before his performance at Charlie Daniels’ 80th Birthday Volunteer Jam on Nov. 30 in Nashville. “You know, gosh, it certainly has been on the radar. I was really close to going in and doing some new Christmas stuff this year. I’m learning in my life that if I want to do something I really need to probably schedule it.”

Just like everything that Luke takes on, he wants to make sure he does it right. “I just want to put the right one together with fun songs and certainly the classics and yeah, I’ve got some tricks up my sleeve,” says Luke, who is up for “Male Artist of the Year” at the inaugural Rare Country Awards.

And then he flashed us that smile that reminds us that yes, this Christmas album might just become a possibility after all.

But until then, God knows that Luke has a lot on his plate, including continuing his Kill the Lights Tour right into 2017.
