Loretta Lynn and family are mourning the loss of one of their own YouTube/EarlyCrystal

At a time when so many things were finally looking better for Loretta Lynn following her stroke earlier this year, the country music legend and her tight-knit family were once again thrust into sadness over the death of one of their own.

Donald Ray Webb, brother to Loretta and fellow music icon Crystal Gayle, passed away on Oct. 13 in Indiana, surrounded by his loving family.

He was 76 years old.

According to his obituary, Donald Ray was born in Butcher Holler, Kentucky, as one of seven children born to Melvin “Ted” Webb and Clara Marie (Ramey). He was also a proud recipient of the musical talents that seemed to run in the family, and was a recorded songwriter in his own right. There were a number of times that he joined the family when they came together to sing, both at home and on various television shows.
