Yes, she said it.
Lorrie Morgan wants to spank Blake Shelton.
When the Grand Ole Opry invites an artist to become a member, it comes with some stipulations — one of which is that members are required to perform at the Opry 24 times per year. It sounds like a lot, but in reality, there are many artists who find ways to make it work into their schedules.
Problem is, just as many artists don’t keep up their end of the deal and according to Lorrie, Blake Shelton is one of them. When that happens, the Opry reaches out to artists to remind them of their obligation and that being a member is more than just an honor.
“They send out a letter that says you know, ‘We are kind of demanding that you must be here so many times a year to continue your membership,’” Morgan told Taste of Country Radio. “Because it’s just not fair. People want to say, ‘Hey I’m a member of the Opry,’ and not want to come back. The Opry takes dedication and it takes love. It takes love. He’s gonna get a spanking. When I see him, it’s over for Blake. Blake, you better look out buddy.”
