Luke Bryan’s spring break performing days might be over, but the success of his spring break songs are really just beginning. The debut of the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year’s final spring break album “Spring Break…Checkin’ Out” wasted no time debuting a number one this week on Billboard’s Country Albums chart; making it the second time in a row that his spring break-centric album went to number one. Through the years, Bryan’s spring break releases have exceeded $1.2 million in sales.
Does he really have to stop his spring break escapades?
“I didn’t want to turn into that weird old guy,” Bryan told the Today show’s Jenna Bush Hager on March 16 from his concert at Spinnaker Beach Club in Panama City Beach, Florida. “It’s kind of sad it’s the last one. Somehow I was able to have an excuse to be at spring break all through my 30s. It’s probably time to shut ‘er all down.”
Plus, Bryan has a ton more to look forward to, including co-hosting the 50th Academy of Country Music Awards on April 19 and continuing onward with his “That’s My Kind of Night Tour,” which will wrap up in May.
