Leave it to Eric Church to stir the pot a bit with his latest concert announcement Associated Press

Eric Church and Zac Brown Band have signed on to help tackle a topic that doesn’t get much attention in country music — race.

The two acts will join a diverse lineup including Bruce Springsteen, Jamie Foxx, Sting, John Legend, Pink and Ed Sheeran for the two-hour A+E TV special,  “Shining a Light: A Concert for Progress on Race in America.”

In a recent press release, concert organizers point to the recent church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina as the catalyst for the event. The statement continues, “By shining a light on the uncomfortable truth that racial inequity and bias still impact our society, we are looking to inspire people to go beyond short-lived, symbolic gestures.”

The Shining a Light concert airs live from Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium on Friday, Nov. 20 at 8 p.m. ET on A+E, Lifetime, HISTORY, H2, LMN and FYI.
