There comes a point in every woman’s life when she simply doesn’t care what anyone else thinks. She is going to say what she wants to say, she is going to play the music she wants to play, and heck, if she wants to wear a see-through shirt that shows off the rock hard abs she has been working so hard at the gym for, she’s going to wear it.

Just ask LeAnn Rimes.

“It’s funny, because I think when people believe they have me pinned down, I’m the defiant one who goes the opposite way,” LeAnn said in a recent interview with Westword. “For me, I’m a vocalist, a songwriter and an artist. I’ve been around for so long, it depends on where you plop me in my career. Do you remember me from when I was 13, or [from her most recent album,] ‘Remnants?’ I think something gets embedded in people’s minds, and that’s forever what I am. I think now more than ever, those lines have become very blurred for me, and people just connect with the music. At least that’s what I hope.”

In fact, the artist that has been delighting thousands with her vocal stylings on her annual “Today is Christmas” tour, and has been using her Instagram page to show off her many looks, some of which include a see-through blouse that is downright gorgeous.

LeAnn has long been criticized for different actions throughout her career, including her divorce and remarriage. Yet, in a new interview, she remarked about the tabloid banter. “It’s like, ‘Wait, an article is coming out about what?’ And it takes some time away,” she said in an interview with the Aspen Times. “My life fuels my work, and it’s amazing the stories that people come up with about me. So it makes a good song every once in a while. I look at it that way. I’ve had to.”

Instead, LeAnn looks to remain focused on what is important, which is the holidays right about now.

“It is one of my favorite times of the year,” LeAnn said in the Aspen Times interview. “There is something magical about it, and being able to share it with my fans makes it all the more special. [And the show I’m doing is] really intimate. I love having that with an audience. I think people really have a moment of getting to know me and, hopefully, it’s a great show of fantastic music.”
