We’ve seen enough pregnancies in country music in the past year that we know those last couple of months can get pretty uncomfortable. Sleep is more difficult, moving around is harder and emotions are a roller coaster. But, we have to say, Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott is making it all look pretty sweet.
And she’s carrying twins! Very active twins.
In fact, Hillary just shared a new video on Instagram of how much her twin girls are moving around in utero, and it is impressive. We hesitate to say that these two are destined to be delicate little magnolias since they are, apparently, busting a move. Even Hillary calls them “baby ninjas.”
Yep, it looks like there’s a dance party going on in there!
But make no mistake, after suffering a heartbreaking miscarriage in 2015, Hillary is eternally grateful for the miracles that she carries. She writes, “I’m still absolutely floored by the fact that we are created to carry life, and that they move like this within us. As I’m nearing the end of carrying these two precious little girls, I’m trying to soak up these (slightly less uncomfortable) moments that I will miss and try to hold in my heart forever. 😍”
Hillary, husband Chris Tyrrell and big sister-to-be Eisele Kaye are expected to welcome the new baby girls into their family next month, ramping up on the amount of pink in their household and kicking off a new baby boom in country music with a double whammy.
And following close behind are Chris Stapleton and his wife, Morgane, who are also adding twins to their family that already includes a boy and a girl, as well as Jessie and Eric Decker, who are adding a third little one, another boy, to their family in the coming months. And let’s not forget our NASCAR buddy, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his wife, Amy, who will welcome their first in May.
But beating any of them to the punch is NASCAR’s Joey Logano and his bride, Brittany, who will welcome their first, a little boy, in January.
It’ll be hard to top the baby boom of 2017 that produced over three dozen new country music little ones in 12 months, including Hillary’s bandmate, Dave Haywood and his wife, Kelli, who added a little girl to their family. But we’re still early in 2018, so there’s plenty of time for wannabe parents to step up.
Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
Even if these are the only new babies we welcome this year, which we kinda doubt, there are also a good number of weddings that will take place in 2018, giving the country music and NASCAR communities lots of reasons to celebrate in addition to the music.
So here’s to a year of new babies and fun gender reveals, exciting engagements and romantic weddings, and lots of No. 1 hits, platinum-selling records and checkered flags. It might be a good time to buy stock in champagne and diapers, as well as iTunes and Goodyear.
