Summer is always just a little bit better when Kenny Chesney is touring, isn’t it? Although it isn’t a full-blown Kenny tour like we’ve come to know, it was no less great when he recently hit the stage in Orange Beach, Alabama, at The Wharf. Who knew it would turn into a boys’ night out for Kenny and hot newcomers Midland?

Looking buff and tan, and sounding as awesome as he ever has, Kenny brought the Texas-based trio onstage to close out the night with his mega-hit “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy.” Slapping hands, sipping beer and singing along with the superstar, Midland’s Mark, Cameron, and Jess look as if they are having as much fun as the legion of fans packed into the amphitheater.

Midland will be out with Kenny on all of his August dates, including August 25 and 26 at Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts, where Thomas Rhett and Old Dominion will join the party. So far, though, no other shows are listed on his website.

That leaves us to wonder what is going on with the hit singer-songwriter, who has taken a summer off in the past.

Big production tours, like last year’s “Spread the Love Tour,” take the time to plan, especially when you’re like Kenny and each one is bigger and better than the last. So, he and his team could be doing that.

And while he recently announced that his next album is a live compilation, there is still a lot of work that goes into that.

Then there’s also the fact that this is Kenny Chesney, and he’s been known to keep a few cards up his nonexistent sleeves, like pop-up shows at college bars. So, while we don’t have anything official from his camp regarding the rest of 2017, we love the anticipation of not knowing and the potential it holds.
