When Kenny Chesney heads out on tour, there is no stopping him. The guy goes all in each and every night.
Yet, when Kenny Chesney decides to take a moment to regroup, re-center and re-energize after a grueling summer, he isn’t joking around.
He’s going to take a break.
And that’s exactly what Kenny’s team has revealed to Rolling Stone Country. After a summer where he delighted hundreds of thousands of fans on his Spread the Love Tour, Kenny will, in fact, not be touring in 2017. Having just wrapped up a weekend where he played for more than 120,000 people on Foxborough, Massachusetts, sources say that Kenny will now take a bit of a break and put all of his focus on the Oct. 28 release of his “Cosmic Hallelujah” album.
But fans – don’t despair. There is a chance to still see the country superstar next year. He recently was announced as a headliner at the 2017 Tortuga Music Festival in Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida. Set for April 7-9, the event has a special meaning for Kenny, as it helps raise money and awareness for various ocean conservation groups, which is a cause he has long supported.
Since Tortuga Music Festival’s inception back in 2013, more than $300,000 has been raised for various conservation efforts.
