Not everyone believes in fairy tales, but it’s hard to think they aren’t just a little bit real when you look at the story of Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans.
Kelsea, who hails from East Tennessee, and Morgan, who is from the land down under, met in 2016 at Australia’s CMC Awards. And it appeared to be love at first sight … or, at least, darn close to it.
They were engaged by the end of the year and then, a year after that, in December 2017, Kelsea and Morgan tied the knot. In between, Morgan scored a major label record deal in the United States and released the single “Kiss Somebody,” and then “I Do.” Kelsea released her sophomore album, “Unapologetically,” and added a few more hit singles to her catalog.
And this year has seen the couple — just months after their nuptials — taking their music to the world. In fact, both Kelsea and Morgan just finished playing at the U.K.’s multi-day C2C Festival, and now, they are returning to the scene of the love crime.
Kelsea shared a post on Instagram, and the photo shows the casually and comfortably dressed star peering out the window of an airplane while she sips champagne. She writes, “Off to Aussie. Can’t wait to see you @cmcaustralia !!!”
The best part is, although their respective tours this year might take them to opposite ends of the country at times, they’ll be together again for the March 15 CMC Awards!
In another Instagram post, Kelsea shares a photo where she and Morgan are packing on the PDA during their honeymoon. But it’s here that we learn that the CMCs are their current destination! “Y’all, I love this man so much,” she writes. “This photo was from our honeymoon when we were time banking knowing this year would be a lot of cheering each other on from two different places. I see him in a few days in the place where we met, hosted an awards show, and fell stupidly in love. Aussie is my second home now. He’s my first. #kisssomebody”
GAH! Did you read that? “Aussie is my second home now. He is my first?” That’s just further proof of this young lady’s incredible mastery of words, and explains how she has earned four No. 1 singles that she had a hand in writing!
She sings, she writes, she’s beautiful and funny, she puts on a heckuva show where she even dances a little bit … but when it comes to ballet, maybe Kelsea should leave it up to Misty Copeland.
Before leaving for Australia, Kelsea and her pal Kate shared a video of themselves putting their best feet forward for a tippy-toe dance to Kelsea’s new single, “I Hate Love Songs.” And bam, there’s that sense of humor we love so much!
She may hate love songs, but she sure sings the dawg out of them!
