Any woman who’s had a rough pregnancy knows it’s no fun. Everything from awful morning sickness to headaches, insomnia, diarrhea, constipation, and back and neck pain.
Am I right ladies?
Kelly Clarkson knows all of this too well. Having had a rough pregnancy back in 2014, Clarkson had to be hoping for an easier go the second time around. Alas, it was not to be.
“This is worse than the last one. I have this random, weird thing called Hyperemesis, and like 1 percent of women get it,” Clarkson told Mix 96.5 in Houston. “You can’t keep anything down. No water, nothing. They hook you up to an IV, and you stay in the hospital for a week or longer.”
Originally scheduled to appear on the upcoming Grammy Awards and “American Idol” for its final season, Clarkson’s doctor told her that she could only commit to one because of her health troubles.
Although she’s been a regular — having being nominated for 12 Grammys throughout her career, including two this year — Kelly recognized that “American Idol” birthed her career.
And she knew exactly where she needed to be.
“I had to kind of choose one, and I obviously chose ‘Idol’ because it’s ending,” Kelly said in the interview. “I was the original winner, so it’d kinda be weird if I wasn’t there.”
Look for Kelly to appear Feb. 25 on “American Idol.”
