Kelly Clarkson is a happily married woman. But, there was a time when she thought she’d never fall in love.

In fact, the pop superstar recently confessed that she never actually experienced intense romantic feelings for anyone until she met her husband, Brandon Blackstock.

“This isn’t a downer to anybody I dated before him, but I’m just going to be real: I never felt like, honesty, sexually attracted to anybody before him,” Kelly told “People.” “And I’m not downing my exes. You know, everybody’s different. But there was something about him.”

Kelly went onto say that her lack of sexual attraction toward people before laying eyes on Brandon actually made her wonder if she was asexual.

“I’d never been turned on like that in my whole life,” she said of the first time she saw Brandon. “I was like, ‘Oh that’s that feeling … OK! That’s what they were talking about in ‘Waiting to Exhale.’ I just got it. I just didn’t have a clue.”

The “American Idol” winner and Brandon first crossed paths back in 2006, when she was at a rehearsal for the Academy of Country Music Awards during the time he was working as the road manager for Rascal Flatts. At the time, however, he was married, and they didn’t so much as exchange conversation. But even then she says he caught her eye.

“Literally, I’m not joking, he walked past us at that time. And he walked by, I was like, ready to take it all off. I just felt something,” she said.

Kelly and Brandon later crossed paths again at the Super Bowl in 2012, following his divorce from Melissa Ashworth. They wed in 2013. And, as they say, the rest is history.
