Kelly Clarkson embarks on a new chapter that has daughter River Rose smiling YouTube screenshot

Is there anything Kelly Clarkson can’t do?

When Clarkson started dropping hints on her social media channels last week about a new project, we figured it was some sort of kids album or something like that. As it turns out, it’s something much cooler than that.

The former “American Idol” champion and consequent hit-maker is now officially an author! Her new children’s book “River Rose and the Magical Lullaby,” which is named after her adorable daughter with husband Brandon Blackstock, will hit shelves this October.

Initially, the project was a scrapbook more than anything for Clarkson to document the exotic trips her 1-year-old daughter River Rose was experiencing with her parents but was too young to ever remember. As time went on, the creative wheels started turning, and the project blossomed into much more.

“That was the initial idea. The little stories ended up turning into a book for each place we kind of went,” she explains. “I guess my hope is for little kids to read ‘River Rose and the Magical Lullaby’ and be inspired by it and know they can achieve anything and still dream big and make big things happen.”

While the book comes out in October, you can pre-order now at
