It’s the day every child wishes they never will have to experience.

It’s the day we wave goodbye for the final time.

It’s a day that country music superstar Keith Urban went through on December 17 when he was in his native home of Australia to attend the funeral of his dear father Robert “Bob” Urban. You will recall that Urban’s father passed away on December 5 after a long battle with cancer.

“I am so deeply grateful that Dad is not suffering anymore,” Urban was reported to say by a number of Australian media outlets during a heartfelt eulogy to his father. “I loved him so much and did not want him to suffer like he was towards the end…he now has given me all the peace that I need to create this new spiritual relationship with my father.”

Urban was said to be surrounded by family and friends during what had to be one of the toughest days of his life. Yet, many media outlets also reported that Urban’s wife Nicole Kidman and their children were too grief-stricken to attend.

We continue to send our thoughts and prayers to Urban as he prepares to live a life without his father by his side.
