For most of us, it was just another morning in our regular old routine, but yesterday in country music, it was a very special morning for many of our stars.
That’s when the Queen of Country herself, Reba McEntire revealed the nominations for ‘The 53rd Annual Academy of Country Music Awards” (which she will also host), and let’s just say lives were truly changed.
Take Carly Pearce for example. The rising country star and Kentucky beauty celebrated a monumental year with the release of her debut album “Every Little Thing” and the smash debut single of the same name, which broke records and barriers and became Carly’s first No. 1 single.
So imagine her surprise when she boarded a plane and found out that she’d just earned her very first ACM nomination for New Female Vocalist of the Year.
“When you’re 35,000 ft. in the air and find out you just gt your first #acmawards nomination for New Female Vocalist of the Year,” she captioned an Instagram post. “I can’t put into words how I feel—Thank you #acms!!!!”
We love how everyone on the plane came together to celebrate with her! Seriously—is there anything sweeter than a plane full of strangers helping make a marvelous moment that much better?
“Yes. I really screamed that loud. [wait for the end] @southwestair @acmawards #acms,” Carly captioned a video of that moment.
Later in the day, Carly said in a statement, “I have dreamt of being nominated for an ACM Award my entire life. All the years I watched the show from my couch, wondering if I’d ever make it to the awards as a nominee are now coming true. I love you country music!!”
Brett Young also got some great news Thursday morning: he’s nominated for New Male Vocalist of the Year.
We know his brand new fiancée is just as excited for the big show.
Maren Morris really needed this good news too. Bless her heart, she is recovering from wisdom teeth surgery, so you know she is over the moon right now, at least as much as she can be.
“Hot damn! Woke up from my post-wisdom teeth haze to find out I’m up for four ACM Awards,” she wrote. “So honored, especially for the ‘Dear Hate’ nom. Didn’t see that one coming. To Vegas we go! #ACMawards”
Fan favorite and big nominee Keith Urban took the time to express his gratitude in a tweet.
Blake Shelton is up for “Single of the Year” with “I’ll Name The Dogs,” and reacted with this post …
Faith Hill and her hubby Tim McGraw received a surprising—yet awesome—nomination for Duo of the Year this year! And Faith was so moved …
Lady Antebellum shared their excitement with everyone! They’re up for Vocal Group of the Year …
Kelsea Ballerini is also a super happy girl right now …
It’s going to be a great show! “The 53rd Annual ACM Awards” air April 15 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
