Kane Brown had a lot to celebrate at the Dec. 14 Rare Country Awards.
In addition to taking home the honors for Duet of the Year with Lauren Alaina (read more about that here), his overall year has been monumental in so many ways, including his engagement to girlfriend Katelyn Jae.
Now that Kane has officially put a ring on it, the two have a wedding to plan. And you know we couldn’t resist asking him about it in our Facebook Live chat just prior to his performance on the show, which took place at Acme Feed & Seed in downtown Nashville.
As for all the details of their big day, Kane says he’s leaving that up to his sweetie.
“She’s honestly doing basically all of it,” Kane told Rare Country about the wedding planning.
“I’m so busy and just going day-by-day. For me, all I want is for her to be there. I don’t need all the other extra stuff. It’s whatever she wants to do!”
And we are all sighing. How sweet is he?
If you follow Kane and Katelyn on social media and watch their posts and photos, it’s easy to see that these two are absolutely in love, and a match made in heaven.
At least Kane thinks so.
“She’s my mini me,” he told us with a smile. “She wears my clothes, and we have the same personality. We have a lot of fun.”
And even though we didn’t get many more details about the big event, you know it’s going to be a party.
When we asked Kane what he would like to see happen that day. His response was simple. “I think it would be cool if some of my musician friends showed up … But everyone’s schedules are so busy,” he said.
True, but at least one of his country star buddies must be free to sing the first dance song or something, right?
“Jason, you heard her!” he said to the camera when we asked him that.
That would be his buddy, Jason Aldean. The two became fast friends after Kane went out on tour with the country superstar.
Whatever happens, it will be a super sweet evening and the perfect time of the year to get married. Kane mentioned onstage at the Rare Country Awards that he and Katelyn would be tying the knot in the fall of 2018.
So clearly, next year is going to be an even better year for the singer!
