Kacey Musgraves’ new album, “Golden Hour,” is a representation of the changes the Grammy-winner has gone through in the past few years. As evidenced by the relaxed, self-assured feel of the album, the changes have been good for Kacey.
There are plenty of love songs on the album, which is a reflection of her romance with her husband, singer/songwriter Ruston Kelly. The couple wed in October of 2017.
For fans of Kacey’s first two projects, there’s still a bit of that bite we loved about her early songs in the disco-flavored “High Horse.”
While making “Golden Hour,” Kacey got a few nods from the universe to let her know she was on the right track.
She explains, “One of the biggest ones was literally a cosmic event. It was literally on August 21, , which is my birthday, and there we were in the very middle of making this album and the total solar eclipse happened in Nashville, and it darkened all of Nashville. It just felt like this cosmic event that everyone was paying attention to. It kind of stopped time and cast a really beautiful light on Nashville itself on my birthday, my 29th year, which is kind of the golden hour of my young adult life, and it just felt very special.”
Be sure and carve out some time to sit back and relax and listen to “Golden Hour,” available on March 30.
