Yes, there are plenty of things to be sad about when it comes to Joey+Rory’s current state. And yes, it’s still not fair that a vibrant and beautiful woman finds herself lying in bed and living out her last days battling the final stages of cancer.

Yet, the country duo remain committed to grasping onto these little pieces of amazing news that God continues to send down to them and their fans. The latest of which is the record-breaking success of their current album, “Hymns That Are Important to Us.”

According to Billboard, “the album is currently the first set in nearly 10 years to crown both Top Christian Albums and Top Country Albums.” The last time that happened was with Alabama’s “Songs of Inspiration” back in 2006.

“I communicated to my wife, Joey, the good [chart] news about ‘her record,'” Rory Feek told Billboard. “I call it her project, because the “Hymns” album is one that she has always wanted to make, and she’s worked so hard to make it happen, in spite of the difficult circumstances she’s facing.

“Her response, through tears, was, ‘No, honey, this is God’s record. He’s gonna be the one that gets all the glory.’ And she’s right. Only God could make something like this happen.”
