Sometimes, Joey+Rory can seem somewhat supernatural. We see them as these characters in this fairy tale in this faraway land where everyone is in love and the sun always shines.

The only problem is that our beautiful heroine is dying of cancer.

Despite this tragic reality, the beloved country duo remain wildly in love while dealing with the most tragic of circumstances with a grace and calmness that defies understanding. So when we hear them questioning why it all had to end this way, we finally see them act like the real people they are.

“I cannot even begin to imagine going home to Tennessee without Joey, or living my life and raising Indy without her… but chances are, that day is coming,” Rory wrote in a Jan. 28 blog post, questioning why the fairy tale has to end this way. “Joey and I both have questions.  Lots of them. Hard questions that we don’t have any answers for.  But still, we have faith – we choose to believe. I think that’s why they call it faith. If we knew all the answers, no faith would be required. (Indiana) is the most precious addition that God has given us.

But why?  Why would He give us such an incredible addition, and allow it to be followed by such a heartbreaking subtraction?”

Our thoughts exactly.
