It has been almost two years since Joey Martin Feek passed away from a long battle with cervical cancer. And, God only knows that her husband, Rory, is trying his best to get through the holidays without his beautiful bride by his side.
Luckily, he’s got a ray of sunshine in his life to make him smile during the cold winter days ahead. And that ray of sunshine is his adorable daughter, Indiana.
The three-year-old, cutie pie child of the Grammy-winning country music duo is already getting into the holiday spirit, according to one Instagram post shared by one of Rory’s other daughters, Heidi Feek.
The post, which you can see below, shows Indiana enthusiastically flipping through the popular Dr. Seuss book, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” And, boy has she grown so beautifully!
“Indy reads her rendition of ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas,’ which is mostly about Dr. Seuss. #christmasstory#christmasbaby,” Heidi captions the adorable clip, which features the toddler looking through the pages of the children’s book and sharing its story.
At one point, Indiana, her hair pinned high in a bright red bow, pauses to look into the camera lens. She then smiles widely with so much joy and warmth, giving fans a glimpse of her mommy’s spirit and a smile so reminiscent of Joey.
It seems like only yesterday that Indiana, who was born with Down Syndrome and with a hole in heart, was still learning how to walk and talk. And, it’s clear to see that she’s been learning so much over the course of these past few months.
Speaking of growing up, little Indiana may have found her future prince charming already! On Dec. 6, her doting daddy shared an album on Instagram featuring a sweet, smiling photo of Indy with her friend, Caleb.
“Indy and her betrothed Caleb at the farm this weekend,” Rory writes, alongside a snapshot of the two joyful toddlers posing side-by-side.
“In December of 2014 Joey and our neighbor Sarah decided our kiddos were gonna get married someday,” he adds in reference to the second photo in the album, which features, Joey, Sarah and the kiddos. “So, so precious.”
