We love the writing the word “congratulations,” because it means that some kind of awesome announcement is about to follow—like a new album, a wedding, a pregnancy or a new baby. Get ready for some pretty sweet news.

Congratulations are in order for singer-songwriter Jessica Andrews and her husband, Marcel Chagnon, also a singer, songwriter and video director. The pair has just welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on Feb. 6.

In a post on her Instagram page, the beautiful new mother shared a stunning black-and-white photo of herself with son Rockwell and, although she makes her living with words, she admitted, “How do you even figure out words to describe feelings that you didn’t know you could have?! I’ll just say welcome to this world my beautiful baby boy Rockwell. Born 2/6/18.”

Many of you will remember that in 2000, Jessica proudly declared “I am Rosemary’s granddaughter / The spitting image of my father” in her No. 1 single, “Who I Am.” Before that, though, you could hear the Arkansas native’s strong, but angelic vocal on songs from her “Heart Shaped World” album like “I Will Be There for You,” which was included in the soundtrack for the Disney film, “The Prince of Egypt.” She also landed a fan favorite in 2000 with the honest and tender “Unbreakable Heart,” just before “Who I Am” and the same-titled album was released.

In 2002, Jessica hit the Top 20 with “There’s More to Me Than You,” which was written with Marcel well before he became her husband. That single was from Jessica’s third album, “Now.” And in 2004 she charted with a duet with rocker Bret Michaels, “All I Ever Needed.”

Unfortunately, the talented beauty’s record label shuttered in 2005 before her fourth album could be released.

Marcel, who just uses his first name professionally, also charted two country singles as an artist, the first in 2002 and the other in 2008.

Rockwell is joining a growing class of country music babies already born in 2018 and some that will arrive soon. Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott and her husband, Chris Tyrrell, kicked things off in a super-sized way when they welcomed twin daughters into their family on Jan. 29. We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of another set of twins from Chris and Morgane Stapleton. Jessie James Decker and husband Eric are expecting a little boy playmate their kids Vivianne and Eric Jr. in March.

There are more babies scheduled for arrival this year with undisclosed or later due dates, and while we have mentioned that 2018 could be as productive as last year as far as adding to the country community population, a side-by-side comparison proves that we just may be right! If Chris and Morgane deliver in February and Eric and Jessie give birth in March, we’ll even be ahead of the game.

But remember, last year there were over three dozen little ones added to families in country music, and right now, we only know of about nine families that are expecting. There’s still plenty of time, though.

Country couples, you know what to do! Bow-chicka-wow-wow …
