Jason Aldean’s wife offers some wedding advice that may catch you off guard Today Show

It’s been a year since Jason Aldean and his wife, former “American Idol” contestant Brittany Kerr, tied the knot in a secret beach ceremony in Mexico.

Jason recruited his pal, “Duck Dynasty’s” Willie Robertson, to officiate the wedding, but that was really about the only detail anyone knew. Jason and Brittany wanted to avoid the paparazzi so a majority of the wedding plans were kept under wraps. They were so secret in fact, even his soon-to-be mother-in-law didn’t know what was going to happen.

“Nobody really knew. We just sort of said this is where you need to fly to. Just fly there, we’ll pick you up and then just don’t worry about it from there on out,” Jason told the Today Show during the summer of 2015. “It was kind of fun for everyone because it was a surprise, they didn’t know where we were staying or where the wedding was. Believe me, it was months of working on this stuff.”

Then at the 2015 CMA Awards, E! News asked the couple if they had any wedding or marriage advice for couples. Brittany described a not-so-funny experience where she had an allergic reaction to a new skincare item the day of her wedding.

“As a female, don’t use any new products,” she advised. “Keep a good regimen and continue it through your wedding day.”

With a year of marriage under their belts, the couple is already thinking about kids. Being 11 years her senior, it seems as though it’s Jason’s internal clock that is ticking louder.
