We’re a few days past the CFP national championship game, and most college football fans are already looking towards the next season. However, when your household was split with one spouse pulling for one team and the other spouse rooting for the other, there may still be some smack talk, maybe even a little good-natured teasing.
For Jason Aldean, a dyed-in-the-wool Georgia Bulldog, and his wife Brittany, a loyal and true Alabama Crimson Tide fan, things appear to be returning to normal after the Jan. 8 game that saw the Dawgs defeated by the Tide in overtime. In fact, it looks like Brittany is making a genuine peace offering to her handsome hubs, and she’s using her most valuable tool to do it—the couple’s precious newborn son, Memphis.
In a sweet post on her Instagram page, Brittany shares a photo Memphis flashing a gigantic smile. Dressed in a warm and cuddly onesie, the wee one also had on a red and black bib that simply says, “Bulldogs.” Brittany writes, “This is for daddy🏈💙😀 #imasweetwife”
Indeed she is a sweet wife. The rivalry between Georgia and Alabama is pretty long-standing, but Brittany and Jason are proof that nothing can stand in the way of love or friendship, not even college football.
And with a smile like that, do you think Jason could resist his baby boy even if he were in head-to-toe crimson? We’re gonna go ahead and say “nope.”
Memphis isn’t the only little one that has been sporting college colors during football season. His little buddy, Wake, the toddler son of Dee Jay Silver and wife Jenna, has also been boasting Georgia red and black.
However, Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook are Alabama fans, so their son, Elijah, has sported classic Bama gear.
The jury is still out on which university young Memphis will attend when he’s college-ready, but that is still about 18-years away, and he could easily choose another route for his future. While mom Brittany did go to the University of Alabama, Jason bypassed secondary education and went right into the music business. Of course, Memphis could show the same keen talent for baseball that his father had and pursue it all the way to the major leagues, and we feel confident that Jason wouldn’t mind that a bit.
The thing is, it’s glaringly obvious that this baby boy is going to have the same unwavering support from his mom and dad that Jason and Brittany got from their respective parents. And keep in mind that Jason also has two sweet daughters, Keely and Kendyl, that are also being shown that the sky is the limit for their dreams, too.
They’re also pretty much looking like Georgia fans, so Brittany, we salute your commitment to the Tide even when you’re outnumbered.
