Country music fans flocked to watch the artists of the past mix with the superstars of today at The 50th Annual CMA Awards on Nov. 2 in the hopes of witnessing some of the coolest performances ever.

And so far, no one is disappointed.

Jason Aldean took the stage to sing alongside longtime country duo Brooks & Dunn to perform their 1991 chart-topper “Brand New Man.” And while the performance seemed to be plagued by some sound issues, the collaborative trio handled it like the superstars they are.

Earlier this week at rehearsals for the much-anticipated awards show, Jason commented about what this moment meant to him. “It’s cool to be here and get the chance to perform with these guys,” Jason explained. “These are guys I came up watching on this show and watching these guys perform for years before I got to town. I never played ‘Brand New Man’ onstage with these guys, but I played it in the clubs for years.”
