From the looks of her Instagram feed, Jessica Simpson is back in the studio making music. The wife, mother and fashion designer has long been away from the music world, especially since her attempt at a country music career stalled back in 2009.

So could the blond bombshell be coming back to country to give it another shot?

We doubt it.

In fact, Jessica seems to be branching out a bit as she is currently working with rocker Linda Perry in the studio. It will be interesting to see what she has up her sleeve when she appears on “The Today Show” on a much-anticipated performance come August 27.

Yet, there is no doubt that there might be a tinge of country in just about any music she puts out there. A Southern girl at her core, country music fans will recall that Jessica made quite a splash in 2008 when she released her country single, “Come On Over,” much to the initial delight of fans. Yet, her performances at her live shows had fans not so keen on her country chops and ultimately, her 2009 album, “Do You Know,” flopped.
