We have to hand it to Gwen Stefani – the girl has had quite a year, yet she remains as resilient as ever.
Just months after her divorce to Gavin Rossdale, 46-year-old Gwen found herself back in court in June to take the necessary steps to change her name back to her maiden name, which is Gwen Renée Stefani. According to “Entertainment Tonight,” Gwen “filed legal documents in a Los Angeles Superior Court last month to officially drop Rossdale from her last name.”
It’s not necessarily known if the last name of the couple’s children – 10-year-old Kingston, 7-year-old Zuma, and 2-year-old Apollo – will now also be changed.
It’s a step in a new direction for Gwen, who began dating country megastar Blake Shelton earlier this year. “My dreams were shattered,” Gwen said in a recent interview with “Bazaar.” “All I wanted my whole life was to have babies, be married like what my parents have. Then I remember thinking ‘there’s got to be a reason for this.’”
“My marriage fell apart,” explained the 40-year-old country star during a recent interview with Chelsea Handler. “To find out she’s going through the exact same thing at the same time… All this has to be meant to happen.”
