Garth Brooks is one of the biggest George Strait fanboys you’ll ever see.

During his recent shows in Strait’s hometown of San Antonio, Texas, Garth posted a photo on Instagram pointing at an “I Heart George Strait” bumper sticker on one of his equipment cases.

Of course, the heart on the sticker is shaped like Texas, and Garth was especially pumped to be performing in the Lone Star State.

He said, “We’re at the home of The King! I mean, this is the… you guys might take living this close to and breathing the same air as King George as… you might take that for granted. For me, it’s pretty cool just to know that these are his stomping grounds.”

Garth still hasn’t given up the dream of becoming just like George Strait one day.

He added, “That’s what I want to be when I grow up!”

Garth and George actually teamed up for a collaboration at the ACM Awards a few years ago in honor of the late Dick Clark, who was the long-time producer of that awards show. Garth kicked it off with a stirring take on “The Dance,” and George later joined him for “The Cowboy Rides Away.”

George has recently saddled back up for an ongoing run of shows at the brand-new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. He’ll play there Sept.9 and 10 with additional shows in December 2016 and February 2017.

Garth’s World Tour continues with shows in Bossier City, Louisiana on July 29 and 30.
