Garth Brooks lives to make mothers cry–and he just did it again on The Today Show

Garth Brooks’ current hit ‘Mom” has been known to elicit tears from just about anyone who hears it. Yet, this week on NBC’s “Today” show, Garth took that emotional response one step further when he asked a group of mothers and their children to surround him during his performance of the tearjerker.

“These people have been cool enough to bring their moms…so everyone come on in,” Garth elicited to the crowd of mothers, daughters and sons surrounded around his stool on the “Today” show set.

From there, he placed his guitar around his neck and proceeded with the heart-heavy tune, written by Don Sampson and Wynn Varble. After the performance, a few more tears appear to have been shed as the Garth Brooks Takeover continued as Garth took the time to sit down with the obviously star struck Hoda Kotb. “It’s a big, big day around here,” Hoda began the show, “Garth Brooks, the legend, is sitting here in Kathie Lee’s chair. Bam.”

That’s our thoughts exactly Hoda.

Now…try not to cry while watching the clip. I dare ya.
