Age is nothing but a number, so turning 28 on Aug. 28 wasn’t a major stressor for Cassadee Pope. As a matter of fact, the season three “The Voice” champ took to Instagram afterwards to share her thoughts on the big day.

“Dear 28 … nice to meet you,” she wrote. “I think you and I are going to have an interesting year. There will be lots of good days and bad days, self-discovery and confusion, happiness and sadness … but one thing’s for sure. There will be growth,” she added candidly.

And apparently there will be attitude, too, as the feisty chanteuse wrote. “Sorry, 28, but I’m [gonna] kick your ass!”

Cassadee’s 27th year was filled with highs and lows, the latter including parting ways with both her record label and her fiancé/longtime love, Rian Dawson. At the same time, she was still riding the wave of her hit duet with Chris Young (pictured with Cassadee above), as well as writing new music that she recently told Rare Country she hopes fans will get to hear soon.
