Tanya Tucker and Glen Campbell’s stormy relationship ended more than 30 years ago, but Tucker still holds a very special place in her heart for her former love. You can see the chemistry they once shared in this performance of their duet, “Dream Lover,” from 1980.

Now that Campbell is in the advanced stages of Alzheimer’s disease, Tucker had feared she would never get a chance to say goodbye to him. Thanks to the power of technology, Tucker finally got that last talk with the ailing superstar.

Tucker tells The Chicago Tribune that Campbell’s oldest daughter recently set up a FaceTime call between them.

“I was talking to him, going, ‘Remember me? I’m Tanya, we used to love each other,'” Tucker shares. “[I was] trying to think of anything that would trigger his memory. When I was done, he kissed the phone. So I got that, at least… It may be all I ever get, but that was wonderful.”

Tucker goes on to say that Campbell’s wife, Kim Campbell, and her have never seen eye-to-eye.

Says Tucker, “She don’t like me, but I have nothing against her. I appreciate her taking care of him all these years, because I know he’s a handful.”
