Florida Georgia Line perform amongst country music legends at the recent ACM Awards Billboard/CBS

There’s a reason Florida Georgia Line performs on every award show.

When awards show producers are planning which artists get to perform and which ones don’t, they want those artists who are going to draw viewers.

While they did get to play in front of millions of people, Florida Georgia Line must have drawn the short stick backstage. They had the unenviable job of their performance taking place smack dab in the middle of two of country music’s biggest treasures — Dolly Parton and Chris Stapleton.

While lesser artists might be intimidated by that, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard were up for the challenge. Performing their latest single “Confession” in front of an elaborate backdrop of barren trees and pouring rain, the guys slayed it when they had the chance.

The two got a more-than-approving round of applause at the end of their set. They also took home the award for ACM Duo Of The Year, which was awarded before the telecast, so they’re obviously doing something right.
