Flashback to the time Carrie Underwood spun this Fleetwood Mac classic YouTube

They may have gone their own ways after winning “American Idol,” but Carrie Underwood and David Cook can sure cook up a song together.

On Feb. 12, 2009, they did just that.

Backed by a guitar-slinging quartet, Season 4’s Carrie put a country spin on Fleetwood Mac’s 1976 hit “Go Your Own Way.” Rocking a fancy up-do and gripping her sparkly microphone, she belted out the first verse before inviting Season 7 David to the stage. Both “Idol” alums then slayed the song in beautiful harmony.

That rendition happened in Orlando, Fla., during the opening for a, now defunct, Disney World American Idol Experience – an attraction that gave park visitors a chance to sing in front of judges. On hand that day was not only Carrie and David, but also a boatload of other alums including “American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest.

“Go Your Own Way” was a pretty fitting song choice for the opening, considering it was written in Florida by Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham, and this wasn’t the first time Carrie or David sang one of the band’s songs.

In 2007, Carrie sang it during a Fashion Rocks performance, while David has covered the band’s “Little Lies.”
