Find out why Dierks Bentley got four of his favorite country artists to jump into a lake of freezing water

Call it boot camp or pre-tour hazing…we think y’all are just crazy.

In an effort to make a splash with the announcement of his 2015 “Sounds of Summer” tour, Platinum selling singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley tricked his friends and now fellow tour mates Kip Moore, Maddie & Tae and Canaan Smith to join him on a “relaxing” pontoon ride on a lake in Nashville.

It resulted in clothes being taken off and expletives running rampant.

“You’re my hero and we are going to kill it on this tour every night,” exclaimed Smith to Bentley before enthusiastically jumping in to the freezing water below.

Indeed, the bonding moment between the tour mates is sure to strengthen their already strong relationships as they prepare to set out this summer on a 40 city run will kick off June 5 in Raleigh, NC.

“There have been tours in my career that I thought would be impossible to top, and the past 12 months certainly rank as some of the best and most fun nights of my life,” said Bentley in a press release.

“I expect 2015 to beat all of it. Kip, Maddie & Tae and Canaan are three of the hottest rising artists out there right now, and I feel fortunate to be spending the summer with them. If our first ‘tour meeting’ is any indication, they are up for anything, which is awesome. No one is going to have more fun this summer than us!”
