Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have brought their love to the stage so many times with their heartfelt duet “Go Ahead and Break My Heart.” So when the country crooner kicked off the first night of his “Country Music Freaks Tour” in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on Feb. 15, fans wondered if the blonde beauty would make an appearance.
Well, she didn’t. But that doesn’t mean that she wasn’t on her cowboy’s mind.
You see, prior to taking the stage, Blake treated a handful of lucky guests to a VIP concert backstage. While there, he answered some fan questions. When one person asked the star to reveal his favorite thing about Los Angeles, as well as his favorite thing to do there, Blake didn’t hesitate to bring up his girlfriend.
“Really, my favorite thing about L.A. is that Gwen lives there,” the 41-year-old “The Voice” coach said. “That is the God’s honest truth.
“As for the one thing that I like to do there,” he continued with a gleam in his eye, “I can’t say her name again there, can I? That would be completely inappropriate.”
The crowded room, of course, erupted into a fit of laughter at Blake’s hilarious answer. In fact, you’ll notice in this fan-shared Twitter video above how one of Blake’s loyal BSer’s shouts out, “That’s fantastic! You can’t recover from that one.”
Blake’s answer isn’t all too surprising though. After all, he doesn’t know too much about the Golden State since he’s from Oklahoma, and initially disliked the City of Angels when he began spending time there after landing a job as a coach on the first season of “The Voice” in 2011. Luckily, Gwen tries her best to make him feel at home whenever he’s there.
“We talked her into putting in a fire pit,” Blake said. “You know, we all in Oklahoma have fire pits in places that we burn crap, right? Out there [in L.A.] they frown on fires … if you’ve watched the news at all. But, I talked her into letting me [get one], and we went to Home Depot and we got one of those little cheap fire pits, and that’s my hobby when I’m L.A. If I’m not working at ‘The Voice,’ I’m literally out there burning wood. That’s all I do – [that] and drink.”
Blake’s “Country Music Freaks Tour,” which features supporting acts Brett Eldredge, Carly Pearce and good buddy Trace Adkins, currently runs through March 17. For more information on concert listings fans can go to blakeshelton.com.
