The story of the Browns has always been a sweet one.
It’s been a story of a dream coming true – a dream of country music stardom for a family trio whose harmonies delighted country music fans across the country back in 1959 with their Grammy-nominated hit “The Three Bells.” This story reached new heights when the group was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame in March of 2015.
Yet, that’s also around the same time that the story of Jim Ed Brown and sisters Maxine and Bonnie took a cruel turn.
Jim Ed had been battling lung cancer as their Country Music Hall of Fame induction was announced. He died on June 11, 2015 at the age of 81. And now, his sister Bonnie is in the midst of a battle of her own, as she battles the exact same disease.
