Who runs the world? “Girls,” to quote Beyoncé, who just topped Forbes’ global list of highest-paid women in music with a whopping $105 million earned in 2017.
But a few of our country favorites also pulled rank on this prestigious list of powerful players. Taylor Swift comes in at No. 3 on the overall list with an impressive $44 million earned in a year she didn’t even tour.
But this is the news that had us jumping up and down: claiming the No. 6 spot AND the No. 1 spot for country females? Dolly Parton. She earned $37 million between June 2016 and June 2017.
According to Forbes, Dolly grossed in the mid six figures per city across 63 tour dates during their scoring period. Age is just a number, y’all, and Dolly just gets more fabulous with every year that passes.
Rounding out the top five on the list are Adele at No. 2 ($69 million), Celine Dion at No. 4 ($42 million) and Jennifer Lopez at No. 5 ($38 million).
This means Dolly bested Rihanna, Britney Spears, Katy Perry and even Barbra Streisand, which just proves once again that we still have so much to learn from Dolly.
But it’s not a competition—it’s a woman’s world, and we’re loving every minute of these ladies succeeding and being at the top!
