Dixie Chicks’ Natalie Maines makes a sudden and shocking exit from Twitter Twitter/@1nataliemaines

Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines has never been afraid to speak her mind via Twitter, but everyone needs a break every now and then. But with news of her recent divorce filing from longtime husband, Adrian Pasdar, it’s no surprise Natalie is stepping away from the social media platform for a little bit.

She writes, “Gonna check out of Twitter for a while. If you care to know what’s up you can follow me on Instagram at 1NatalieMaines.”

Natalie had regularly used Twitter to voice her opposition to President Trump’s administration, but her account has gotten quieter on that front over the summer. She’s posted more photos like this one paying tribute to her musician-producer father, Lloyd Maines.

She also posted another photo on June 22 that includes one of her sons.

Natalie also recommends taking a little break from keeping up with the ever-frantic news cycle. On June 22, she wrote, “I just went 36 hours without watching or reading the news and I feel like a new woman. Do yourself a favor.”

Over on Instagram, Natalie is clearly focused on digging into spending quality time with her family. They’re making music, too. Natalie’s son, Jack Slade, has started a band called The Campbells, and she is posting a lot of music from their shows.
