Thomas Rhett always causes a stir wherever he goes, but his fans really lose their minds when his lovely wife, Lauren, is with him. We have yet to meet anybody who isn’t just totally in love with Lauren.
When it comes to loving Lauren, Thomas tells Rare Country, “Everybody does. I’m not even famous anymore. It’s just all her.”
Lauren is the inspiration for Thomas’ biggest hit to date, “Die a Happy Man,” so it’s no surprise he’s now releasing another song inspired by his bride. It’s called “Star of the Show,” and Thomas tells us it’s been around for a while.
“It’s one of the first songs I wrote after we got married in 2012. If you know me, you know I get tired of songs really easily, so the fact that that song resurfaced and was like, ‘Hey, can I be a single?’ It was just one of those things that was kind of a godsend.”
Thomas has performed the song in his live shows a few times, and videos of those performances have lived on YouTube for years now. The fans never forgot the song, and neither did Thomas.
He adds, “I’m so glad that my team trusted me that that was the one we wanted to put out. It’s rocking. I love hearing it on the radio. It’s just amazing to know that was only a YouTube video for four years.”
“Star of the Show” is included on the expanded edition of Thomas’ sophomore album, “Tangled Up,” due out Oct. 28. Thomas will follow up that release with a performance on The 50th Annual CMA Awards Nov. 2 on ABC.
