Country music’s “It Girl” says “yes” to this super sparkly Christmas gift Twitter/@KelseaBallerini

What a Christmas 2016 has given us. There has been more good news in country music than bad, and we have one more story to add to the list.

Congratulations are in order for Kelsea Ballerina, who said “yes” when her handsome fella, Morgan Evans, popped the question. In back-to-back Instagram posts, Kelsea shared the big news starting with video of the couple’s first meeting as co-hosts of Australia’s CMC Music Awards. She wrote, “On March 12, I met and hosted an awards show with Morgan Evans.”

In the second post, Kelsea flashes the sparkler on her left hand while she shares a monster smooch with Morgan. In her typical sweet and humorous style, she says, “This morning, 9 months and 13 days later, he got down on one knee in the kitchen while I was burning pancakes and asked me to marry him. Loving him has been the greatest gift of my life.”

She later tweeted a close-up of the ring:

Morgan is an Australian singer-songwriter who has toured with artists like Taylor Swift and Alan Jackson. He makes his home in Nashville where he is part of the city’s rich songwriting community. In 2015, he was the recipient of the CMA’s Global Artist Awards, which recognizes outstanding achievement by an international country star.

Earlier on Christmas Day, Kacey Musgraves announced that her boyfriend, Ruston Kelly, had proposed to her. Then, Ashley Monroe shared the big news that she and husband John Shanks are expecting their first little one in 2017.

Sounds like Santa’s sleigh was carrying a lot more than toys this year.
