Country music star Josh Turner makes a special Father’s Day dream come true

All of us know a guy like Lewis Lusk.

A guy with more talent in his pinkie than most of us, Lusk is your all-American hardworking man who put his dreams on hold early on in his life in favor of being a dad and supporting the household. Yet, the dream of someday becoming a country music singer lay silently tucked away.

Sure, he would play his instruments at some local hotspots, and he has established a small yet impressive fan following in town. But it wasn’t until recently that Lusk received the national attention he has always deserved.

Enter country music superstar Josh Turner.

Alongside the Today Show’s Al Roker, Turner was instrumental in planning a surprise for Lusk in a segment that would air as part of a Father’s Day “Make Your TODAY” segment. In the segment, Lusk was whisked away to record one of his original songs entitled “Sally & Jack” at the famed SUN Studio in Memphis.

“It was such a special day for me to get to share this with Lewis,” Turner said in a recent press release. “As a father myself, I respect the sacrifices parents make for their children. In this case, Lewis put his dreams on a shelf for the sake of his boys, and to have a hand in helping make that dream come true for him here is something I won’t forget.”
