On March 30, the 22-year-old singer announced that he lost his “mammaw.” William took to Facebook to reveal the tragic news.

“Today has been a very stressful day,” he said. “My Mammaw just passed away and I’m awaiting some other news … Please pray for my family.”

He then added, “In almost 23 years I’ve never seen my father cry anything but happy tears.”

While a slew of fans have already shared their support for the singer’s heartbreaking loss by offering their condolences on social media, we can only imagine the pain and suffering that William is now going through.

If there’s any shred of a silver lining at all to this story, William’s self-titled EP — which includes six songs — has made its way to Walmart’s shelves and is available for download on iTunes. This success happened just days before his mammaw’s passing.
