Country bad boy Eric Church shows off his tender side with a touching new song YouTube screenshot

Music has the ability to heal.

It can heal your heart or tempt your tears. It can take you back or send you sailing. If you need to get over someone, the right music can make that happen.

That’s what Eric Church is counting on with his new song “Record Year.”

When Church introduced the tune at a recent gathering of radio programmers in Nashville, he explained matter-of-fact just the kind of person that he is.

“I’m a guy that grew up listening to vinyl,” he said from the stage. “I still think that the best way to listen to music is to just put on an album, stick the needle on it and just kick back with a whiskey. That’s my escapism.”

“Record Year” shines a light on the post-breakup cocktail of vinyl mixed with booze. Eric’s new song shows how music can turn into Band-Aids and help you bury a breakup like only a good friend can.
