Cole Swindell’s new video tribute to his late father will bring you to your knees YouTube Screenshot

The holiday season is always full of joy, but it also can be a time when you really miss those people who are no longer with you. That’s the emotion Cole Swindell captures so beautifully in his new single and video, “You Should Be Here.”

Swindell’s dad passed away very suddenly just a few weeks after the singer signed his record deal with Warner Brothers Records in 2013. He wrote the new song, “You Should Be Here,” as a tribute to his dad, and Swindell actually allowed cameras to capture an intense visit to his father’s grave for the song’s video.

The clip also includes moments from Swindell’s career he wishes he could have experienced with his dad, including sharing the stage with Kenny Chesney and Alan Jackson.

Says Swindell, “There’s so many moments in life where we get to experience happiness, but there’s always that one person, maybe, you think of. It’s like, ‘If they were here, they would love this.'”

Swindell goes on to call “You Should Be Here” the song he came to Nashville to write.
