This time of year, it’s hard to pass a gentleman with a white beard and not immediately think “Santa Claus!” Charlie Daniels is certainly not exempt from that thought as he wears a perfectly trimmed white beard that peeks from under his broad cowboy hat.

It seems that we aren’t the only ones that think so. Mrs. Charlie Daniels, beautiful Mrs. Hazel, has found that Santa’s… we mean… Mr. Charlie’s lap is just right for sitting and pondering the upcoming holiday in front of a massive stone fireplace, presents and a Christmas tree. Charlie shared a photo of the couple and if it isn’t the perfect country music Christmas card, we aren’t sure what is. The country icon’s sweet caption says, “When Santa is at his most vulnerable. Merry Christmas y’all!”

Mr. Charlie may have the beard and lap for Santa, but Mrs. Hazel has the keen eye for decorating. Her talented husband has shared multiple photos on his Twitter page of her holiday efforts, including some of the festive trees featured in their warm and welcoming home.

As y’all know, Santa Claus is synonymous with Saint Nicholas, and if anyone has the heart of a saint, Charlie Daniels does. He has been a vocal supporter of the United States military, both veterans and those currently serving, and a generous advocate for America’s first responders for his entire career. And that’s just part of the reason he was awarded the first ever Humanitarian of the Year trophy for the 2016 Rare Country Awards during this year’s Volunteer Jam held in Nashville on Nov. 30.

It isn’t all Santa, gifts and Christmas trees for the Daniels family, though. The devout Christians treasure that the true reason for the season is to celebrate the birth of Christ and that is heralded at their Twin Pines homestead as well.

Congratulations Charlie, and Merry Christmas to you and Mrs. Hazel.
