If Carrie Underwood sang us recipes off of a menu, we’d still love it.
Her voice is just that good.
What’s even better though is that the “Heartbeat” singer’s been doing her own rendition of Dolly Parton’s country classic “I Will Always Love You.”
And, yes. She nails it.
Although 33-year-old Carrie’s been spotlighting the powerful ballad during her Storyteller Tour, she recently brought it with her to the Bobby Bones Show and melted everybody’s hearts during “Joy Week.”
Putting the country flavor back into the song made famous by Whitney Houston, Carrie snagged a few of Dolly’s old tricks by channeling the tune into a lullaby. With her delicate voice and an intimate setting, Carrie sang a stripped-down version of “I Will Always Love You” accompanied by a single acoustic guitar.
Rocking a pink ‘pimp joy’ tee, Carrie is one of a handful of country artists who have been seen “Pimpin’ Joy” on the Bobby Bones Show. Some of the other artists have included Tim McGraw, Cam, Vince Gill and Keith Urban.
Carrie is currently playing to sold-out crowds on her tour, which runs through May 2016, and although she’s sure to tear the roof off at her concerts when she sings “I Will Always Love You,” there’s something about this experience that just makes it that much more personal.
