When we think of country music’s biggest prankster, Brad Paisley generally comes to mind, but it looks like one country star might soon snag that title – and that’s Carrie Underwood.
Of course, the megastars have dually hosted the CMA Awards since 2008, so we can only assume that the funny guy has rubbed off on her.
On April 12 at a concert in Stockton, Calif., as part of Carrie’s ongoing Storyteller Tour, the “Church Bells” singer pulled a practical joke on fellow tour buddy, Easton Corbin. Announcing his name in front of a packed arena, the 33-year-old wise-cracker belts,“Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome Easton Corbin!”
And, before the “All Over the Road” star can even sing a sentence, his microphone shuts off, and the audience erupts in laughter.
To make things sweet, April 12 was Easton’s 34th birthday, and that was the whole motivation behind Carrie’s little prank. Leading the fans into an on-the-spot singalong of “Happy Birthday,” we can hear chuckles come out of Carrie’s mouth as The Swon Brothers appear onstage with mouthwatering cake.
Needless to say, she got him good!
Lucky for us, the special moment was caught on video and a flattered Easton posted it to his Instagram.
Carrie Underwood will soon be hitting the road with Keith Urban in Australia during his 2016 Ripcord World Tour. We wonder if she has any more sneaky tricks saved up for that one!
