Well it’s official — sort of.

Let’s just say it’s Twitter official.

Because in a set of May 19 tweets, two sources confirmed that country starlet Carrie Underwood will in fact be returning to Sunday Night Football on NBC to record a rousing new opening for the show. And considering that one of those sources is Carrie herself, it makes us pretty confident that this is happening.

Country music fans will remember that Carrie took the reins of the musical introduction for NBC’s Sunday Night Football in 2013 from Faith Hill, who had famously done the opening for five straight years. “It’s always fun to get to be a part of Sunday Night Football and recording the open,” Underwood said in a 2015 Sunday Night Football video. “I’ve met some of the players before so we kinda have a little rapport going. Sunday night is football night.”

In fact, last year’s opening had Carrie appearing with some hunky football players such as New York Giants’ Odell Beckham Jr., Arizona Cardinals’ Patrick Peterson and Dallas Cowboys’ Dez Bryant.
