When Carrie Underwood stepped on stage Sunday, May 1, at the Academy of Country Countdown Awards, country fans headed to social media to talk about her dress and her hair and how amazing she performed her new single “Church Bells.”
And when she walked over to accept her “Female Vocalist” award, country fans listened intently as she thanked her dear Lord and radio stations and her fans.
But then, the country superstar paused.
“I want to thank one fan in particular,” she said a tad quieter than before. “Isley Thibodeaux – this one is for you.”

And with that, Carrie smiled and held her award up in the air. It ends up that Isley was an adorable 10-year-old killed April 24 at the hands of a drunk driver.
Isley was on her way home from a Carrie Underwood concert.
